Fortunately, the island also boasts of a burgeoning food culture, which can be perfectly experienced in Mirissa, which while being small, is home to some fantastic restaurants, cafes, and pubs serving some stellar gastronomic dishes! Central Beach Inn Restaurant
This restaurant is the ideal spot to head too when you need a break from a long surfing, sunbathing or swimming session in the Indian Ocean, as they serve up some great snacks. Which best of all can be enjoyed on the sandy beach, under shady palm trees with a stunning view and ice-cold beers to top everything off. Consider heading to this spot during happy hour which is from 5 pm to 10 pm, as they have some great deals on!

Mirissa Eye
Mirissa Eye is almost always counted in when listing off the best dining spots in this little town. The restaurant is always crowded with patrons so do try to reserve your table at least one hour in advance to avoid any hassle. The restaurant’s ambiance is pretty inviting with groovy music playing the background. Here too one will be able to enjoy some stunning oceanic views while dining on the shores. Trying out the Mahi Mahi fish is highly recommended. The crabs served here are sweet, soft and plentiful, and come up to LKR 1000. If your hoping to for something carb oriented then opt for seafood macaroni, which is well flavoured, and comes with mini prawns, cuttlefish, a generous helping of cheese and fish. If your heading here with little ones in tow note that their banana and chocolate milkshake which is priced at LKR 250 is simply fantastic.

Little Tuna Sushi Café
Nestled in a welcoming garden just by the river in Mirissa, this cool sushi restaurant is a top dining spot in the town. Featuring a relaxed atmosphere, Little Tuna is also well known for its scrumptious selections of homemade muffins and cheesecake.

The cuisine served here includes fresh sushi and sashimi, along with an assortment of other Japanese and Asian dishes!

Palm Villa
No culinary journey in Mirissa is complete without sampling a meal of rice and curry at least once. Palm Villa is well known for offering a selection of great Sri Lankan food and is visited by many visiting foodies to treat their taste buds to spicy dishes from the local cuisine. The dining space features ample outdoor seating and a great beverage menu.
